Project Activities

1. The Institutional CELBAN Test will be provided to IEN students in order to identify their strengths and weaknesses.

2. Language-Communication Survey will be completed by IEN students in order to identify learning needs and contextual information.

The survey is designed to obtain added information about factors within the learning environment that facilitate or hinder oral language proficiency within IEN programs and employment.  Socio demographic questions will include factors which have been identified as language competency such as native language, number of years of residing in Canada, previous language training, previous higher education, working patterns, income levels and community networks.  The results from this questionnaire will be used to evaluate changes in knowledge, attitudes and skills associated with language proficiency.

3. Student learning modules will be designed

4. Innovative teaching strategies will be introduced into the nursing bridging program
